TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

Inspiring passion in students’ musical pursuits is as important as learning music itself. Brite believes that by including music history and promoting students to listen and try pieces they are interested in, the students take an active role in their own learning experiences. Aside from this, the fundamental parts of music instruction such as developing musicianship, proper technique, and good practice habits are also vital for long term goals.

Brite believes that enthusiasm and commitment are equally important. Special attention is paid to each student's individual interests and learning styles. There is no one-size-fit-all in teaching, and finding the right approach and fit to each student is crucial in promoting healthy and active learning.

Instruction methods are different for each student depending on the student’s level and goals. Students normally receive weekly private lessons 30 minutes to 1 hour in length, and is expected to practice 10 minutes to 40 minutes per day.
